 A Message from the Coach! Welcome to the 2011-2012 season of Deering Ram’s Basketball. Over the past nine years Deering High school has established itself as one of the premier basketball programs in the state of Maine. Our teams have consistently finished near the top of SMAA, capturing Western Maine Championships in 2005 and 2006, as well as the first and only State Championship in the school's history in 2006. We again are optimistic for what we hope will be another successful year This years team features many exciting players in our line-up. As they grow and progress throughout their years as members of the Deering Boys Basketball program, they are sure to provide many memorable experiences for all who follow our program. We are very pleased to welcome back the leadership of our senior class. We will look to our entire program to demonstrate the leadership,dedication, pride and enthusiasm needed to have a successful program. We are committed to representing Deering High School and the city of Portland in a competitive and respectful manner. Our mission is to produce quality teams and help the student/athlete excel in all areas of life. We hope that regardless of the outcome of each contest, the lessons our players learn, such as dedication, discipline, responsibility,teamwork and goal setting, extend far beyond the basketball court. The players are expected to take pride in their academics, contribute positively to Deering High School and demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship on and off the court.
